OUTSTANDING AWARD The Best Student Medal is presented annually to the school by the Godavari Alumni Association and is awarded to the senior student who best fulfills the three qualifications of PROFICIENCY, CITIZENSHIP, AND LOYALTY.

PROFICIENCY demands that the medalist have a high academic record. During the final three years at school, he must have ranked in the top half of his class.

CITIZENSHIP is the measure of one's interest and concern for others.To be a good citizen is to be actively engaged in building a better world, whether that world be the wide world international affairs or the less wide, but not less important, world of school life. The Alumni want the medalist never to be content to live and let live but to be anxious to help others to live better.

LOYALTY includes his love for and adherence to the school and its motto.The Alumni hold that a person who is loyal to the ideals of the school motto is one who (1) stands foursquare before God, and (2) steps to the fore when leadership is required. He is not only anxious to help others live better, he usually seizes the initiative. He does this, not in a spirit of undisciplined adventure, always eager to find some new programme or scheme, but within a framework of activities that have traditionally molded the graduates of St. Xavier's.
